StatSoft’s VP Hill Accepts Keynote Role at Big Data Analytics Conclave

TULSA, OK, USA  [May 20, 2013] – StatSoft, Inc., is pleased to announce its Vice President of Analytic Solutions, Dr. Thomas Hill, has accepted an invitation to present the keynote address at the 2013 “Analytics Conclave on Big Data” in Bangalore, India.
This invitation-only conclave will present business leaders in one of the world’s largest economies with case studies and key insights into the latest tools, practices, and technologies from business analytics experts who have created what event organizers call, “the next-gen solutions for big data.”
In his keynote, Dr. Hill will present and evaluate the maturing applications for Big Data analytics, discussing lessons learned as well as practical considerations and best practices for how to extract information from Big Data. In addition to a brief review of technical and analytic approaches, Dr. Hill will provide advice on topics such as Big Data governance issues and how to avoid mistakes that may cause Big Data projects to fail.
Dr. Hill’s keynote will be followed by panel Q&A with other business and quality analytics speakers.
The conclave is presented by StatSoft India, a StatSoft regional office in New Delhi, in association with ProTrack Education.
Dr. Thomas Hill has been involved for over 20 years in the development of data analysis and data mining algorithms, and the delivery of analytic solutions, including over 10 years teaching data analysis and data mining courses at The University of Tulsa. He has published widely on innovative applications of data mining and predictive analytics, contributed numerous tutorials to the Handbook of Statistical Analysis and Data Mining Applications (2009), and is a co-author of Practical Text Mining And Statistical Analysis for Non-Structured Text Data Applications (2012). Dr. Hill also authors topical business white papers, including The Big Data Revolution And How to Extract Value from Big Data (2012), and he is a contributing author to the forthcoming Practical Predictive Analytics and Decisioning Systems for Medicine, to be published by Academic Press early in 2014.
